Create Multi-cluster Projects
This section describes how to create multi-cluster projects.
Prerequisites
Application Management for Cluster Federation should have been installed and enabled.
You should join a workspace and have the Federated Project Management permission within the workspace. For more information, refer to "Workspace Members" and "Workspace Roles".
Steps
Log in to the KubeSphere web console with a user who has the Federated Project Management permission, and access your workspace.
Click Projects > Multi-cluster Projects in the left navigation pane.
Click Create on the page.
In the pop-up dialog, set the project parameters, then click OK.
Parameter Description Name
The name of the project. Project names must be unique within the same cluster. Names can only contain lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens (-). They must start with a lowercase letter and end with a lowercase letter or number, with a maximum length of 63 characters.
Alias
The alias of the project. Aliases can be the same for different projects. Aliases can only contain Chinese characters, letters, numbers, and hyphens (-). They must not start or end with a hyphen (-) and have a maximum length of 63 characters.
Description
The description of the project. Description can contain any characters, with a maximum length of 256 characters.
Cluster
The clusters available for the project. Resources in the project run in the clusters selected here. When creating a multi-cluster project, you can click Add to select multiple clusters, allowing resources in the project to run on different clusters.
Note To run a multi-cluster project on multiple clusters, the workspace to which the multi-cluster project belongs must be authorized to access multiple clusters. For more information, see Create Workspaces.
After the project is created, you can invite users to join the project and deploy business in the project.
