View Alert List

This section describes how to view the global alert list in the Whizard Observability Center.

The Built-in Alerts and Custom Alerts pages in the Whizard Observability Center display alerts generated by the system based on global alerting rule groups, not including alerts generated by cluster and project alerting rule groups.

Prerequisites

You should have the platform-admin role on the KubeSphere platform. For more information, see Users and Platform Roles.

Steps

  1. Log in to the KubeSphere web console with a user having the platform-admin role.

  2. Click grid in the upper-right corner of the page and click Whizard Observability Center.

  3. Click Global Alerts > Built-in Alerts/Custom Alerts in the left navigation pane.

    • The alert list provides the following information:

      ParameterDescription

      Message

The summary and details of the alert message. If the details of the message are not set, the Message column will display the summary of the rule group.

      Status

The current status of the alert.

      • Pending: The monitoring metrics meet the preset conditions but do not meet the preset duration.

      • Firing: The monitoring metrics meet the preset conditions and the preset duration.

      Severity

The level of the alert, including Info, Warning, Error, Critical.

      Alerting Name

The name of the alert rule.

      Rule Group

The name of the alerting rule group.

      Monitored Target

The type and name of the monitored target that generated the alert.

      Trigger Time

The time when the rule group changed from the Inactive state to the Pending state.

    • Click the search box above the list to search for alerts by alert content, alert status, severity, and rule name.

    • Click refresh in the upper right corner of the list to refresh the list information.

    • Click cogwheel in the upper right corner of the list to customize the information displayed in the list.
